Get a new pedestrian crossing added on Dover Road, Walmer, between Kelvedon Rd & Canada Rd
This petition had 391 supporters
Dover Road in Walmer is a fast-moving and dangerous road with very few safe-places to cross.
Between Kelvedon Road (zebra crossing, just after the Esso) and Canada Road (traffic lights, just as you hit the seafront) there is a long stretch of residential road (some 750m - nearly 1/2 a mile - in length) without a single safe place to cross.
This particular stretch of Dover Road has lots of young families and senior citizens living on and around it, but local people must often walk several hundred metres in either direction to find a safe spot to cross.
Please support, sign and share this petition with your friends.
Together we can encourage Kent County Council to pay attention, conduct a road-safety survey of the stretch of road concerned and - ultimately - provide an additional safe point for our children and senior-citizens to cross this very busy and unsafe stretch of road.
It is only a matter of time until someone is badly injured or worse and an additional safe crossing point is badly and urgently needed.
Thank you for your help!
