Zorya Scott who has cheered on Kenston high school team since her Freshman year. She was terminated from the cheerleading team, her Senior year. Zorya opinon about the changes that New Head Coach Theresa Cardaman (Junior Varsity and freshman coach since 2013) decision was not the voice of the student of Kenston High School. A few changes and require was disagreed by students. However before hand under Keisha Stanley it was about the Student voice and agreement for all students. Yes, Sonority played a big role of decision making at one point. Therefore the Variety cheerleader after making the team choose their Captain and Co Captain for the season. Well since under Coach Cardaman changing the rules of her requirements of fair pick of the position.
Yes Zorya was upset she barely made the team as a Varsity Cheerleader and not make either position Captain or Co Captain. A simple disagreement, went into a whole down grading a student. It was hurtful to see this young lady not cheering, one thing that kept her happy and eager to do more than just sitting on the sideline. Zorya work hard and dedicate her time, willingness and heart for Kenston High School cheer team, after daily schooling and trying to maintain a job at the same time. A part of Zorya left her when Coach Cardaman decision of kicking Zorya off the team was not an example of student or students that didn’t have good tension. It was just plain Sonority meaning power to rule others (students) that don’t have a voice.
When students and some Faculties of Kenston High School found out that Zorya was off the team without knowing that she was off the team was embarrassing and heartbroken. Beginning of the school off to an awful start has impact on Zorya. Her spirit is not same bright uplifting and social heart. Cheer was her school life. Yes! Zorya has other sports (lacrosse and track) she paritpate in. However Cheer is life for Zorya Scott.
By signing this petition to show support and helping her to reconnect her with the cheer team of Kenston High School for senior year.
