Only pay continuation fees until PhD submission date

PhD students at Durham currently get the first term of continuation year free, then have to pay upfront for the rest of the year.

However, student status is only classed as being up until the date of submission of thesis- not of viva. From this date we are expected to pay full Council Tax etc. and we can't claim a refund of course fees, or an exemption letter for Council Tax, even though we have paid course fees for the full year.

We should therefore not have to pay continuation fees from the date of submission. And if we have paid for the full year, we should be entitled to a refund!
