Crescent Head Point is iconic and forms part of the Crescent Head Surf Reserve. The Point foreshore carpark is truly unique, offering panoramic views under all weather conditions and is the social backbone of the community, enjoyed by locals and visitors alike. The carpark creates an amphitheatre and is famous globally attracting many Australian and overseas tourists. It has been part of the surf culture since the early 60s.

There is currently a master plan in place to remove the majority of the parking on the foreshore, dramatically changing the way tourists and the local community use the space as well as reducing the number of available car parking spaces.

A Macleay Valley community group has been formed to make the public aware of the proposed changes. Everyone is encouraged to provide feedback to the Kempsey Shire Council on how you feel about these changes before 1 July 2020.

Save Crescent Head Point Car Park Petition:

We the undersigned, request that council provide a revised layout that retains the existing parking on the foreshore and does not reduce the number of existing car parks to below 130 legal car parking spaces.

We the undersigned, believe Kempsey Shire Council should support extending the car park into the caravan park area as identified on page 26 of the 'Crescent Head Traffic Management and Parking Plan' - GTA Consultants.

We the undersigned, believe that the Crescent Head foreshore Point car park overlooking the surf break is an important social feature that forms part of the designated surfing reserve and is culturally significant.
