Do you feel unsafe going back to school and believe it would be in everyone’s best interest to continue with online school until cases lower? Sign here or be square.

Kelvin Grove State College is one of the largest schools in the Southern Hemisphere, with over 3500 students, none of whom are vaccinated and many of whom are in Prep to Grade 5. These younger students are not required to wear masks upon their return to school, which is extremely dangerous - they may pass COVID-19 to each other or to their older siblings in the Middle and Senior Schools. As the school is so large and many students catch public transport, the virus could easily spread to the wider community, causing yet another COVID-19 outbreak.

While at school, Middle and Senior School students are required to wear masks. However, they may take them off to eat and drink, during which time they could spread the virus to one another. Again, this could rapidly spiral out of control and turn into another COVID-19 outbreak.

Look, none of us are vaccinated, and all of us are resigned to the fact that if a single one of us gets COVID, we're all going to get it. Can we please just be sensible and go back to online schooling for a while? Just until we're absolutely sure that the COVID outbreak has been controlled?
