The MHSAA has recently lifted the overnight travel ban for extracurricular activities.

On behalf of the student athletes, their parents and peers we would like to request that KSD allow overnight travel for MBCI extracurricular events. Due to The Pas’s geographical remoteness, disallowing overnight travel puts us athletes at a disadvantage with respect to competition in sport.

Without the ability to travel and challenge the athletes, the division is taking away the students ability to attend tournaments or host Zones or Provincials. Travel for these events is impossible to complete without an overnight stay for MBCI.

The understanding is that the Manitoba School Board has approved travel and overnight stays, so why can’t KSD participate?  Sports are the other half of our education.

We, the athlete’s are responsible, respectful and keep up our marks so we earn the privilege to participate in school sports.

We want to travel, we want to play, and we want to compete. It’s really not too much to ask. We have had enough taken away from us in the past 2 years. Please just let us travel and play.
