I am a Breast Cancer Survivor. 7 years, 3 types of Breast Cancer, 16 weeks of weekly chemotherapy, 5 weeks of daily radiation. The thing I fear the most is the annual mammogram. Why? You ask. Why? Would you fear a test which can save your life? Because I, like lots of women I know have dense breasts, sorry breast I only have one now! Compressing your dense breast into the equivalent of a sandwich press down to a couple of centremetres on more than one angle is something no woman should have to endure. There are other imaging tests available MRI’s, but, alas they are not funded by Medicare. Let’s make a change and make MRI’s the gold standard for Breast Cancer!
