Change Parkway Schools Graduation Date
This petition had 2,080 supporters
In years past, Parkway Schools have had their graduation ceremonies on week nights. This year, however, Parkway School District has formally changed the date to a random Saturday in May, having all four high schools graduate that day, thus making it IMPOSSIBLE for many students of the Jewish faith to attend their graduation ceremony. For those who are unaware, Friday evening to Saturday evening is a holy time for Jews; it's Shabbat. Shabbat is a time for relaxation, prayers, and is typically spent at a synagogue. While a good portion of the Parkway students do not have this conflict with their schedules, many of us Jewish students do. Parkway, I am asking that you formally change BACK the original dates of all the graduations. I would like to walk across that stage and receive my diploma when it's NOT Shabbat. In order for that to happen, I need as many names on this petition as possible. Please sign and share to get others to see what Parkway is doing. Thank you.
