Install a pedestrian crossing on Canberra Road, Leyland

This petition had 133 supporters

Many residents have expressed concern about safety on Canberra Road and a pedestrian crossing is needed for this very busy area. I have campaigned on this issue for quite a while but to no avail and I am very concerned that this road safety issue is being overlooked. The amount of traffic is only going to increase that we need Lancashire Highways to treat this issue as a local priority so I am bringing forward this petition that will be sent to the new Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport.

I understand that Lancashire County Council has previously agreed a pedestrian crossing was needed and funding was allocated but this decision was subsequently reversed to allow for improvements to the Leyland cycle loop. Therefore if the County Council has already recognised this road needs a pedestrian crossing then funding should be allocated to address this safety issue.

Please sign the petition to ask Lancashire County Council to install a pedestrian crossing as a matter of urgency to improve road safety in this area.
