The cross cultural centers at Cal Poly includes the Pride Center, Multicultural Center, and Gender Equity Center. Currently Keith Humphrey is planning to move these centers from their current locations in the UU to a single location in building 52. This will not only decrease the visability and accessibility of these centers but will also hurt their ability to serve the student body.

These centers have separate goals and separate target groups in the student body. The Multicultural center advocates for under represented students and it is important to that mission for their center to be visible to the student body and the UU is the best location to help them meet that goal. The Gender Equity Center promotes students exploration of gender working to meet this goal the center promotes diversity and leadership. Its presence in the UU demonstrates Cal Poly's commitment to social justice and equality.  The Pride Center advocates for the unique needs of lgbtqiaa students. It provides a safe space for students. Students from the Pride center also founded a peer counciling program that helps lgbtqiaa students with a variety of issues. The Pride Center's place in the UU shows current and prospective students that there is a specific space for them to feel safe and welcome. Moving these centers is hiding Cal Poly's diversity. It is not consistant with the greater goal of all the Cross Cultural Centers: to promote diversity and a inclusive welcoming campus climate.
