Our small community in Kalaoa, HI has grown tremendously in the last 50 years. Who wouldn’t disagree? The main town of Kailua-Kona has also grown with the increasing traffic and shortage of parks per hundreds of children. Having a playground in a park like setting up in the higher and cooler region of Kona will not only help decrease traffic flow in town but it will give this small community a place of being. A place where they can gather, share, relax, enjoy with their friends and family. A place for the children to call their own, near their home. A secure and safe environment to call home!

Our district leaders need to get involved in a project like this and consider it one of their top priorities. Community help will only be encouraged more if these leaders take part of a project concerning our children and families.

I’m assured that if we can pull this petition through, the spirit of this community will be grateful and appreciative. And if not, we’ll at least we tried! Leaving it in the hands of the political leaders.
