Increase Residental Housing Security

Hello everyone! As I'm sure you're aware, there has been a number of sex offenders moving around the Veterans area and with the recent but ongoing sighting of strangers driving around our East and West Falcon residental housing. I am a parent like many of you and want to start a petition to present to housing to increase our security. We're not just talking about our children but our homes and belongings we work hard for. With gates not being closed 24/7, security forces not being here often and gates that have been repeatedly run into and broken because they're cheap causes some concerns. I've been to apartment complexes here that have wider arm bars, made of strong material making it hard for people to break/deterring intruders from breaking it and even a camera the key pad. Another issue that we are still having is that since we are technically off base and members of the neighborhood don't have to do paper work to get family on base to live here, is that we have neighbors that move family members in for an extended amount of time. Guidelines in the Handbook say they are suppose to follow up with housing if it's over 30 days. Housing is technically suppose to do a background check on the family/house guest. Do they do it? Who knows. Someone who lives in one of the residential areas has seen a family member jump the fence and try to break in a house a couple of years ago. It took about 12 minutes for security forces to get here.I personally feel as if our homes should be as well protected as housing on base. This includes Thrower Park housing as well! I'd love for anyone that would like to become involved, please sign this petition! We deserve a lot more security than we are given. A stronger gate system that is closed 24/7 that has a code would greatly ease the minds of residents that share our same concerns. Thank you very much!
Attached is a picture of the gate in its current state, the entrance gate is broken, snapped off the system that raises and lowers it, allowing unauthorized vehicles to enter.
