Stop the plans to build 480 new houses in Milton

The new Conservative administration of the City Council is consulting about building an extra 480 houses here in Milton. They are looking to allow development across almost all of the St James' Hospital site and on the Langstone University Campus.
All the traffic would have to use Locksway Road, Warren Avenue or Moorings Way to get into the site. Just think of the extra traffic on the Eastern Road. Not to mention the pressure on our local schools.
"This is far too many homes for Milton," says local Lib Dem councillor Gerald Vernon-Jackson. "This will change the whole feel of this area, cramming in so many houses is just not right for Milton or for the city."
There has been no consultation with local councillors about this plan or with the Chair of Milton Neighbourhood Forum. "This plan has been produced in secret with no consultation by the Conservative councillors," says local Lib Dem councillor Lynne Stagg. "Producing these plans in secret to have this huge development in our local area is not right."
Our open spaces are under threat. Milton is an area of green open spaces, they should not all be built upon.
