Lee county school district is making a change to are new school schedule. They are changing are 4 double block, 1 hour 25 minute periods to only 7 periods a day for 48 minutes. They believe this will help the teacher shortage but, it’s only making it more difficult for academic courses at schools such as vet, automotive , welding , rotc , plumbing and many others to teach all that they need to in such short periods. In addition they will double block periods of eoc classes such as algebra and other important classes, double blocking is a 2 period class of the same teacher and subject, Which is the same as a single period of the schedule we are doing now. Double blocking will make it were we have one less class to take. Kenneth Savage put this in rule with no vote or opinion of students or staff, it’s all for money and making it easier upon himself and his staff rather then thinking about are education! I’m hoping by people signing this petition it will show are school board what us teachers and students want and think will be better then what they believe is.!
