Keep The Tire Shop Open At Progressive Ag Coop

This week, the upper management at Progressive Ag Coop (formerly Farmers' Coop) decided to close the tire shop at their Wellington North facility in Wellington, KS. As of now, the tire shop's last day will be April 13th, 2018. As a citizen of Wellington, it is my opinion that this would be a serious inconvenience to us and a blow to the community. The only other place in town for farmers and citizens to get tires is Rausch Tire & Equipment, and every time I've purchased tires from there it was a 2-3 day wait. The coop has always had great service and has always had business, even from non-farming citizens. Management themselves has stated that 70% of the tire shop business has come from the people who live in town. Let's stand up and show support to our hard-working farmers and do everything we can to keep the tire shop open. Where else are our farmers supposed to get the supplies they need to keep putting food on our tables? Call and let Mike Morlan (620-840-1103) or Curt Guinn (620-440-1742) know you want it to stay open. For those of you who think they're closing it because it doesn't make money, you're wrong. It makes plenty of money. We have just over a week from now to make this happen. Please sign and share everywhere you can to help get the word out.
