I have been playing squash on and off at Westgate Leisure Centre for around 17 years, it is becoming harder and harder to find courts to play on, to get rid of these courts would be a massive loss

I play in these courts. It's outrageous that that only pay as you play courts available in the are are shutting. Hot Yoga is a fad and an environment for breeding germs, as now realised by Americans, who are now abandoning this practice. Also spinning could be done in conjunction with the courts, as bike can be mobile and don't have to be fixed to the floor. Unfortunately it seems generating money is all the new company are interested in, so they will plough ahead with their plan regardless.

It is a huge mistake to lose the squash courts and narrow the choice of sports/activities available at Westgate. I am a Chichester resident and my son and I are both members of Westgate and we have both used the squash courts. I haven't been asked for any comment regarding this, and it was only through reading the local paper that I learned of the intention to close the squash courts.

There are plenty of gyms in Chichester and no other pay and play squash courts. Chi DC should keep to their word, they promised it would be 'business as usual'

I am signing to appeal to keep the squash courts. The purpose Westgate Centre is to provide leisure facilities .... not to maximise income per foot of floor space. Squash is an enjoyable way of exercising ... not everyone enjoys the gym and having the squash courts facilitates a wider demographic.

I'm signing because there are people who want to play squash on an ad hoc basis and there are no other places in Chichester which offer this. I have used the courts in the past when I was younger as a means of keeping fit and helping with playing other sports. The only option in Chichester will be the tennis and Squash Club, and not everyone can afford to be a member there.

Squash is a great sport and there are far too few public courts around
