Keep Slip Lane & Remove the "NO Right Turn To Broadway" Sign at Halsted and Grace
This petition had 388 supporters
Have you noticed the new "NO TURN TO BROADWAY" sign installed at the southeast corner of Halsted and Grace? This sign has created confusion to many who live, attend services, school and operate a business in the area. It is a confusing traffic flow to get back onto Broadway. One will have to turn east on Sheridan, down Pine Grove over to Grace and eventually back to Broadway. This will drive more traffic through residential streets to get back on Broadway. Turning east on Sheridan will drive more traffic near Gill Park and the new development, causing an unsafe area for children crossing from the park at Sheridan and Halsted. The "no turn on Broadway" has become problematic for dropping children off at school, services at the Temple, those who frequent or live in the area and a hardship for small business. Clarendon has become one way going north and there is no access back to Broadway without jogging through a few residential streets. There were no community meetings regarding this sign or outreach to those directly affected by the newly installed sign. During baseball season and additional special events at Wrigley Field, the no turn onto Broadway will create more traffic congestion to the neighborhood. We kindly request your signature to this petition to remove the sign so we can continue to have access to Broadway and not drive traffic out of the area or push traffic to other residential streets. Our time is limited and meetings are already set to take place early this week. Your voice can make a difference. Thank you.
