The Piedmont Predators organization wants to change the logo and jerseys, but the girls players who had just made it to nationals, oppose this change. Each jersey is about $100-113 according to the Piedmont Predators website. Taking into account that all players have to have two, (a home and away jersey) and socks, $20 a set (players need two sets as well) and a shell, $45-47. Especially for players graduating after just one more season, the cost of new jerseys, socks, pant shells, and jackets, would be a waste of money for only a few months of hockey. Not to mention all of the new players who just bought jerseys, socks, jackets, and shells would have to do it all again. For nationals all players involved in the tournament get patches on their jerseys and part of the fun is getting to wear them throughout the following season. The 19u girls team manager spent lots of money getting the patches professionally sewn on and to have to change the jerseys would mean the team would no longer have the nationals patches. Worst of all, the new logo and jerseys are really ugly and yellow. A compromise is willing to be made where the boys teams can wear the ugly new yellow jerseys and the girls can keep their current jerseys. OR if the organization must change the jerseys, they should start the youngest teams on them first so when everyone on the older teams age out, the new wave of players can wear the yellow ones.
