The Port Phillip City Council has unilaterally decided to stop lighting the Peanut Farm Reserve on Friday nights, the only explanation we have had is to 'assist with a balanced outcome for the community'.

You will recall we rallied for months in 2020-2021 to have the field lit at night to enable use to safely use this outdoor, community space.

Peanut Farm Reserve is for use by ALL members of the community, a majority of whom are dog owners who use the park facilities after dark. The decision by Port Phillip City Council not only prohibits safe access to a public space that we pay for through out rates, but flies in the face of the council's own 'Places for People' strategy which states

"Our vision is to create a well connected network of public spaces for all people that nurture and support the health, wellbeing, social connection, creative expressions, economy and environment of our community."
