The AFL Men's Grand Final is a special day for footy fans.
For many, the day is not just about the game but about coming together with friends and family and keeping alive rituals and traditions that have been stripped away, as the AFL prioritises commercial interests over the desire of fans.

As reports indicate that the AFL is set to announce a twilight Grand Final for 2022, we ask that the AFL Commission respect the overwhelming view of fans who want the Grand Final to be played in the traditional Saturday afternoon time slot.

Further, we ask that a long-term commitment is made to the afternoon time slot, in order to avoid the now annual round of speculation surrounding the timing of the match, that adds to the frustration of fans.

For many fans the Saturday afternoon Grand Final is sacrosanct.

It is time for the AFL to repay the loyalty of fans, who have stuck by their clubs and kept buying memberships over the recent covid interrupted seasons, by rejecting the vanity project of an outgoing CEO and making a commitment to the traditional Saturday afternoon Grand Final time slot.
