Roosevelt Magnet School is changing it's name to Elise Ford Allen Academy.

The mission statement for Roosevelt is:

The mission of Roosevelt Magnet School, as an innovative fine arts academy, is to ensure that each student develops to his or her academic, artistic and personal potential by integrating the arts and technology within a safe, nurturing environment, which embraces diversity in partnership with families and the community.

Peoria Public Schools has decided to cut the fine arts at Roosevelt to a part time program by sending the band and choir teachers to other schools part-time. The drama program is to be cut to only two classes a day.
