Why this petition matters

Started by Melissa Baker

Romeo is a pig, yes he’s a strain of swine, but he’s an emotional support Juliana Mini-pig!  Registered and all. He’s been here in the neighborhood for over fourteen months. He’s brought smiles, new friendships, and lots and lots of love!

What he hasn’t brought: dirt, disorder or disgust…that is, except for some person who has complained and kicked up a whole lotta dust over nothing. After one complaint at a regular board meeting, the Town Police we’re out the next day to issue a 10-day move order.

Now there are  ordinances against livestock, but there are none against emotional support animals - in fact the ADA takes a very dim view against depriving those with disabilities with anything that makes their lives easier.

The Carter family has had a rough year, Steve is still recovering from a bad case of COVID-19 and has just recently returned to work. It is a great sign of recovery that he was able to be a pen for Romeo - to allow him freedom to roam off a leash.

Oh, did I forget that? Romeo walks happily on a leash. OR, he mostly prefers being carted around in his stroller (as he was on Halloween).

The pen has been done quite tastefully- down to the flowers on the posts. The see-through fence allows his friends to wave hello as they go by and for him to have good recreation.

He’s been adopted by the local neighbors and we look forward to seeing him daily interacting with Tammy and the kids.

Please sign your support to help us Keep Romeo Home where he belongs! This will tell the  Milan Town Board that you support those with disabilities!
