Keep Olmec Head On Hyde Park Mural

Keep Olmec Head On Hyde Park Mural
Why this petition matters
The Olmec Head should stay on the mural that was created by Moses Ball that is found in Hyde Park because many people in the Black American community actually descended from people that are from Mesoamerica. Many Black Americans can connect themselves to tribes/nations via oral tradition and genealogical records such as the Choctaw, Chickasaw, Muscogee, Powhatan, and many more that have traditional and cultural ties to Mesoamerica through oral tradition, creation stories, and migration patterns. In addition, dark skin indigenous that some would now be called Afro-Mexican has been discounted and reclassified by the Mexican government until recent times still have towns in Mexico today and they are also a representation of Mesoamerica. Finally, there is an Olmec Head that is named El Negro, so the Olmec head is indeed a representation of Black North and Central American history.
