Recently Newcastle water polo has decided to make the age groups u14 then u17 instead of u14,u16 and 18. This gives opportunity for older kids born in 06, (for example highly experienced players such as Morgan Hughes and Kobey Pitkin) to play against developing players born in 2009. This makes competition not enjoyable for anyone participating because of the clear skill difference.
