I’ve lived in the area for 13 years and I frequent Castro st businesses more than ever with the streets closed to cars

What MV has done should be the model of a walkable downtown with restaurant and cafe seating everywhere! Having the cross-streets open allows for good traffic control and safety!

Closing Castro was long overdue. The idea was passed several years ago, but the city has like an 8 year plan to slowly get there. The pandemic showed we didn't need to wait for all those other changes to happen to get this big benefit. There's no reason to go backwards. People love it closed and it is super popular.

This is a big win for public space that everyone can use. Public space is what keeps higher density areas attractive and usable. Also, this makes our transit center much more appealing.

I used to work there, came for lunch last week, it is so much nicer to have the walkable street closed to traffic. Much more likely to come again for spending then when it was a car driving street.

While the reasons were unfortunate, walkable Castro was one of the good things that should be kept.

I'm signing because I enjoy outdoor dining, especially where cars aren't constantly driving by. The street closures also help alleviate sidewalk congestion.
