Being a longtime fan of both Dance Gavin Dance and Coheed and Cambria I was deeply heartbroken by the recent decision to remove Dance Gavin Dance from the summer tour all together.

I am hoping I do not stand alone in this.

Despite recent allegations aimed towards the co-frontman of Dance Gavin Dance (I can assure you that I do not condone such behavior), I feel the rest of the members need this as a form of healing as well.

Passion for both listening and  creating music is a form of an outlet of our emotions. My opinion may be biased, being that I am a musician as well.

From a musician's point of view, yes there is money involved which is important through profit from tours and merchandise but believe me when I say that it goes beyond that. Time and money also go into planning tours. Especially the release of a new album will further push us to promotes ourselves. Many unpredicted events occur and it is understandable to not want to be associated with an act involved with legal issues but I feel the "show must go on".

As musicians we perform and create because it is our passion and we love it! Our heart and soul go into making music and the satisfaction that we have established a true connection with fans. 

As listeners I'm sure we have all been there where a song just seems to understand us. We found it as a way to heal whether we are having a bad day, a recent loss of a loved one, a breakup, a divorce or anything else that may be causing us hardship.

So I kindly ask from one fan to another that we stand together in hopes that this petition will convince Coheed and Cambria to reconsider their decision for removing Dance Gavin Dance from their summer tour.
