The HOA board voted to close the pool on August 7th...one month earlier than expected.  In the written notice sent out to all residents of Cardinal Forest, the reason given was the change to school hours and not being able to staff the pool.  Next year, high school will get out of school at 2:00.  The reason given in the written notice is not valid.  After I brought up this discrepancy, I was then told the reason the pool is closing is to save $4,000.  We pay HOA fees to cover the cost of operating the pool.  The cost of the pool is an expected expense and therefore should not be a reason for closing it early.  August is the hottest time of the year and the pool is the only tolerable outdoor activity for many of us.  I am asking residents to sign this petition so that we can show the board how many of us are unhappy with their decision.  My goal is to open negotiations with the board in order to keep the pool open through Labor Day.
