Keep Art Alive at Hamilton

Keep Art Alive at Hamilton
Why this petition matters
I will not be releasing my name or grade for privacy reasons but it’s been brought to my attention that my middle school (Hamilton Middle School in LBUSD) is removing art classes from its school due to the fact that “kids don’t like art anymore” and is trying to get rid of art classes entirely.
From what I know, lots of students TRY TO MOVE TO ART CLASS cause they wish to do art! Art is a very popular class so saying “kids don’t like art anymore” really is not a valid excuse to get rid of one of the most beloved classes in the school
I personally want to do art and Pursue it as a career, and this is just slowly showing kids that creativity really isn’t a choice. We need art for everything! In a business you need a logo. In a sports team you need a logo. In math you need shapes. In classes you need DECOR!
Art is a really important subject to myself and many other kids and seeing it have to go really hurts my heart and shows that Mr. Montenez doesn’t care about children’s creativity. Join me and help me make a petition to keep art going strong. KEEP KIDS CREATIVITY ALIVE!
