Right now in several states, the protections of women and their right to bodily autonomy is being threatened. If Roe v Wade is overturned, women will not stop getting abortions. However, the criminalization of abortion will lead to unsafe abortions that contribute to deaths of women, and pregnant people. According to WHO 4.7-13.% of maternal deaths come from unsafe abortions, making it a leading cause of maternal deaths.
