The keene high school dress-code is sexist. The females at KHS are targeted everyday by the dress-code and are told to cover up because they are showing too much, or as they put it "put a hoodie on". Not only does it make people so mad that the vast majority of students dress-coded are female, but those students who have body image issues and finally wear that skirt and feel confident go to school and get told to put pants on feel more self conscious than before they started to try and make themselves wear that skirt. Yet other students can wear more revealing clothes and not get told to cover up and torn down by teachers giving them dirty looks. This needs to be changed. By signing this petition you can help the dress-code be more open to all genders at keene high school to make everyone feel like they are being treated equally. We all know things are changing in this world fast and with that documents and rules need to be revised as the world around them change. I believe that with this change all rules apply to all gender choices, it shouldn’t matter what is under the clothing and nobody should be able to play any card because a dress code should apply to all genders regardless of what’s underneath the clothing you choose to wear! Who are they to say what gender you are? A “label” shouldn’t determine your right from one gender to another! I hope that you all help me get them to update the dress code to apply to all genders because this is a prime example of equal rights! Thank you!
