Awwal Yasin started this petition to The Nation Newspaper and

As concerned Adherents of the Tijaniyyah Sufi Order, we find the article published by The Nation's online and several other media sources by one Mr Kayode Adeyemi from Kano contained in the link: https://thenationonlineng.net/protest-in-kano-over-alleged-blasphemous-song/ to be false, derogatory and unfair.

His claims that the spiritual path of Tijaniyyah is a "sect" is wrong and hereby rejected; so is his assertion that the the Adherents revere anyone over the Holy Prophet Muhammad SAW.

None of the naysayers of the spiritual order have made such a bogous claim in the past despite their contempt towards it, and we find the statement from Mr Kayode to be a bold demonstration of ignorance, hate and disregard for their readers who subscribe to such beliefs.

We give the concerned publishers a three-day ultimatum to withdraw the statement from that publication, apologize, and caution the author, otherwise we will be forced to take legal actions against them.

At no point in time, in any of the Tijaniyyah teachings, was anyone placed above the Holy Prophet Muhammad SAW and we would not condone being ascribed believes that we are in fact, most distanced from.

I encourage all well-meaning individuals to sign this petition against Mr Kayode Adeyemi and the publishers.

Thank you.
