In Green Hill Alabama we have a very dangerous intersection located at the vacinity of 4833 Hwy 43, Killen Alabama 35645 and 131 Hwy 64 Killen Alabama 35645.

To my knowledge there have been 3 deaths within the last year.  In addition, numerous other wrecks have occured and do occur fairly often.  Although there is a clear view, people often make mistakes at this intersection.  A red light will help keep down the confusion, save lives and incredible sadness families and friends endure.  It can be confusing if you are trying to cross over, make turns etc in the midst of the chaos. 2 of the deaths in the last year were very close to many of us in this community.  I have ask my family to avoid this intersection.  Just last night I was almost involved in an accident myself as I was coming home from town headed north on 43.  Had I not been watching the other car closely before approaching the intersection, we may have very well had another fatality.   I hope we will all be more careful so we can enjoy this community together.

It is my hope that we can get assistance from the Alabama Department of Transportion and speed up the process of getting a red light instated before we have another injury and or death.  This is usually a long drawn out process.  Phillip Pettus has been continually working on this for our community and through him, I understand there is a study being done.  We just need to let our State DOT know how important it is that we do this more expediantly.  Thank you for supporting this life saving cause.
