Alex Jones started this petition to Governor Kay Ivey

In almost all other states, wine deliveries are perfectly legal, though they will require a signature from an adult who's 21 or older in most places.

Alabama is one of seven states that prohibits shipments of wine and beer directly to buyers. Currently, customers wanting to purchase from out-of-state beer or wine producers must order through the state and have the alcohol shipped to an ABC store for pickup and payment.

I hereby petition that coinciding with the COVID-19 and stay at home orders that we allow the delivery of alcohol to private person(s) who are above the age of 21. It is only fair to allow alcohol to be delivered as restaurants and bars have been allowed to make "to-go" sales.

Senate Bill 271, introduced by Sen. Andrew Jones, R-Centre is backing the petition.
