Kay Ivey has promised to lift Alabama's mask mandate on April 9th. Yesterday, March 3rd, there were 2.7k new COVID-19 cases in Alabama alone. It is too early to lift this mandate; if we do, we will likely see another surge in COVID-19 cases and deaths. Until many more are vaccinated, it's just not safe enough to lift this mandate. We can drastically limit the spread of the virus by continuing to social distance and wear masks. This mandate is necessary to ensure the health and safety of our friends and family, as well as help speed the process of getting everything back to normal.
