Why this petition matters

Started by Chris Pursley

Donald Maurice Pears, known as The Last Mr. Bigg was an incredibly influential presence in the music scene and entertainment industry,  not just in our great state of Alabama, but the entire world. His influence has not faded since his untimely death in 2015, but it seems the state of Alabama is doing little to honor his legacy. Our current official state song, while fittingly named "Alabama" has been scientifically proven to slap a staggering 42069% less hard than The Last Mr. Bigg's 2003 hit "Long Hair." "Long Hair" is a staple in the musical vocabulary, and hearts of nearly all Alabama residents, and should immediately replace the current state song. It is time the government in our great state hear our cries for representation, and implement this necessary change, so that Alabama can move forward and continue to progress with the rest of the world.

In closing, to quote the late, great Last Mr. Bigg "So throw your hands in the mother f***** air, and show some love to an Alabama playa."

Governor Ivey, we the people of Alabama implore you to show some love to an Alabama playa.

Thank you.
