Makayla George started this petition to Kathy Knowels

As many of you know I have been a Mustang student since kindergarten. This last year has been a struggle for all of us dealing with Covid and all the changes it has brought. I started my Senior year out at MHS and soon found myself struggling with issues with my lessons with the online portion of my school not being uploaded or accepted correctly. I spoke to MHS admin. and couldn’t find a solution and was not allowed to transfer out of the “blended” and online learning portion. Since I was not receiving any help from the administration I transferred to EPIC the first semester of my senior year. Nearing the end of the school year I unenrolled with Epic and transferred back to MHS. I was accepted the same day. I was sent the information to purchase my cap and gown, which I ordered the same day. I also purchased a prom ticket and attended prom with my high school classmates. A week after being accepted, we were told I was no longer a student of Mustang because the administration denied my transfer. They said I was already a graduate of Epic, which I was not, and would not be allowed to graduate with my lifelong classmates. We spoke with Epic and confirmed I was not a graduate of Epic because I had not yet finished my classes, I was at 85% completion through my lessons. Now because the Mustang administration denied my transfer after being accepted and being considered a student of Mustang for a week the state of Oklahoma will now consider me a graduate of Epic. Even though I never finished. We had a meeting with the superintendent and assistant superintendent and gave them this same information. They took the information back to the same person who denied my transfer, the principal of MHS, and still denied my request to graduate with MHS. All I am asking for is to walk the stage with my classmates. The classmates I’ve had since kindergarten. This is my last hope. If you could take a moment to help me, please sign this petition and hopefully MHS admin. will change their mind and let me walk with my classmates. Thank you, Makayla
