Increase federal funding for pediatric cancer research

One in five children diagnosed with cancer in the United States will not survive.
Heart of Gold is working alongside the national nonprofit, With Purpose, to increase funding for pediatric cancer research. According to the NCI, over 15 thousand children are currently fighting different forms of pediatric cancer.
We want to ensure that every child has safe and effective treatment so that no more lives are lost due to any form of pediatric cancer.
Currently, only 4% of federal funding from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) is dedicated to pediatric cancer. However, when the development of a single cancer drug costs an average of $802 million, progress toward developing cures cannot happen without increased funding.
There are many different varieties of pediatric cancer, many of which have seen little to no advancement for treatment since the 1970s.
We dream of a world in which five out of five children survive pediatric cancer. This cannot be done without increased funding to research and develop the safe and effective treatment options that children need.
Take a stand with us today to say that this lack of funding toward pediatric cancer is unacceptable. These children deserve their best shot at a long, healthy life. Make your voice heard in saying that treatments options need to advance for every form of pediatric cancer so that every child has a choice.
Show us your heart of gold and sign today with purpose.
