Improve the Education of Children With Special Needs

Many special needs students in the Ontario education system suffer. Not enough children have been integrated into mainstream classes with "neurotypical" children. Integration has been proven to be beneficial to both the neurotypical children and the special needs children. Special needs children perform better in mainstream classes and a more inclusive society is built in the classroom.

The children that have been integrated into mainstream classrooms also suffer because they do not have an experienced T.A. (trained to help children with disabilities), or their teachers are not knowledgeable on how to deal with/teach them.

Everyone in all communities would benefit from mainstreaming the special needs kids who are able to be in a mainstream classroom, providing additional education for all teachers on how to deal with children with disabilities and providing teachers with trained T.A.s that help both the teacher and the student with special needs.
