Mental Health resources and Housing are a human right, we must allocate state funding towards more housing centers and accessible, intensive long term mental health care for citizens of Portland.

Currently there is a shortage of homeless shelters and housing centers for citizens experiencing house less ness. We must fund long-term housing/create concept solutions job trade/affordable housing solutions using state funds to fight and ultimately end the house less ness battle.

There is no long term mental health care plans or treatment for citizens of Portland to ensure that mental health treatment, housing, and community support are accessible to citizens. These are crucial components and human rights that should be funded by the state in order to ensure citizens are receiving the services they deserve in order to maintain the city of Portland.

Currently there is too much police involvement that is unneeded, does not lead to resolution, and causes unnecessary stress in both the citizens providing law enforcement, and the surrounding/involved citizens. Portland police do not feel empowered to serve citizens of Portland, they should be receiving additional training when it comes specifically to providing service to citizens of Portland humanely, safely, gracefully, and with integrity rather than with shame and with blame.

To summarize, an influx of housing centers is needed combined with accessible long term mental health care, along with less involvement from Police with more integrity and service-based training for Police in order to ensure they feel empowered to serve and protect the citizens of Portland.
