Make Kaslo Plastic Shopping Bag Free

0 have signed. Let’s get to 1,500!

An average family uses 1,500 plastic bags a year, each one being used for only 12 minutes and with only 1 in 200 being recycled. The plastic bags that end up in landfills take over 500 years to degrade and, even when this happens, the plastic never fully disappears. It continues on as micro plastics in our oceans.

There are many better options to plastic bags, such as reusable shopping bags, paper bags, and compostable and biodegradable bags.
Many towns larger than Kaslo have successfully made by-laws to ban plastic shopping bags as the climate crisis continues.

I believe that it is time Kaslo joins in the movement, with a by-law to ban single use plastic shopping bags. Please sign this petition to contribute to the sustainability of our planet's future.
