Dear West Ham United

A recent news article has shown that at £700, West Ham charge the second highest amount in the Premier League for a child to be a matchday mascot. Other teams do change but teams such as Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United don't.

It is completely unacceptable that the privilege of being a mascot is now reserved for those with the most money. It is unfair on those children from disadvantaged backgrounds who are the loyal Hammers of the future.

This totally undermines initiatives such as the impressive Players Project and other community projects.

When moving to the London stadium Vice-chair Karren Brady said "We are determined to maintain that record and get more young people watching our games (...) making our new Stadium the home of affordable family football".

The pricing out the majority of our young supporters from taking part as a mascot is contradictory to all that has been said by West Ham about being a family club.

Please review your pricing structure and allow all West Ham supporting children the chance to lead out this great team.
