The town should reduce rates with all that money saved up. Last thing we’ll need is more housing with the price of oil where it currently is, and demand for iron ore potentially dropping off significantly.

I object to the proposed Karratha City Council 'Investment Program'...
We have a property in the region and after the Govt dumped an oversupply of land and mines built their own camps.. property investors were left to either sell less than purchase price, go bankrupt or pay $1000's to prop up the difference between the rental income and the mortgage payments. We have waited over a decade for sales & rental prices to increase and to hear that the Council want to manipulate the market is scandalous!

I would like to submit my profound objection to the Karratha City Council spending any money whatsoever on any proposal bought forward or any business plan developed under the Karratha City Housing Investment Program or on any residential property development or investment at all. I believe it is an unfair and unjust use of rate payers’ money as it will be used in a way that will negatively impact them.

I'm signing because I invested in my own home and have waited for years to recoup some of it value after the down turn and now this! Investment is the domain of the private sector not Local Governments. I am furious that my exorbitant rates would be used to fund this mess. How about instead reducing the rates you so happily ramped up during the boom but never put down when values fell away. NOT HAPPY!!

The Karratha City Council should be using ratepayers money forthe benefit of ratepayers who have worked in diffic ult conditions to ensure a prosperous future for their families.

Rates are ridiculous, we already pay way too much for 40-50 year old houses, there hasn't been a wage increase in 5 years and families and home owners can't afford to be paying more on top of the high rate costs already put in place when the council first decided to invest on shit no one asked for and made us foot the bill.

I have seen the tragedy of the last boom... there is no need for council to interfere - release the land and let people get on and build their future..
