The history of the establishment of the NRW Chamber of Nursing

In spring 2022, the establishment committee of the Nursing Chamber of North Rhine-Westphalia will convene the first chamber assembly.
All members of the nursing profession have been asked to register by then.

In order to complete this process, the state of North Rhine-Westphalia suspended data protection for all nurses for five years in order to receive the records of the nurses to be registered.

To this end, employers were required to report the necessary data on all activities or members of the profession taking up an activity in accordance with Section 117 of the NRW Health Care Professions Act.

I note that the establishment of a nursing professions chamber cannot act as a savior or a provider of a professional political voice in a sub-committee of the Federal Joint Committee (GBA).

The Nursing Chamber of North Rhine-Westphalia only represents a right to advise and not a direct political vote mandate in various committees in which it is networked. In the sub-committee of the Federal Joint Committee, the Deutsche Pflegerat e.V. has sat at the political table for years to advise.
What has the Deutsche Pflegerat e.V. achieved so far for our federal state?

Right, NOTHING !!!

Politicians merely relinquish their responsibility to care workers and professionals. NRW is the federal state with the highest population density. There are approximately 200,000 nurses. In the representative survey, only 1,500 nurses were asked to vote.

From our point of view, I fear that there will be a further split in the nursing profession through the unification of the nursing profession. Furthermore, we also give an indication that an academization of the nursing profession cannot be the ultima ratio for all professional members.

The Nursing Professions Chamber simply serves to ensure the general welfare of the population and not to represent the interests of the carers in order to upgrade the quality of care in times of constant establishment.

For years the care sector didn't really interest politicians.

It is time to speak to and listen to the nurse.
