Commit Bakersfield to the Paris Climate Agreement

This petition had 251 supporters

As a citizen concerned about Bakersfield and Kern County, I urge the Mayor of Bakersfield Karen Goh to commit this city to achieving the emissions reductions pledged under the Paris Climate Change Agreement.

I am proud of Kern County for being the leader in renewable energy for California and want to see this area continue to create economic opportunities for the city, state, and country.

I am concerned about the air pollution and heat-trapping emissions in Kern County and want to see the community reduce the costly and harmful affects of climate change on our communities health and wellbeing.

I support the over 1,200 governors, mayors, businesses, investors, and colleges and universities from across the U.S. under "WE ARE STILL IN" who have shared their determination to take climate action and want to join them in solidarity to achieve a 28% reduction in carbon emissions by 2025.

To commit Bakersfield to this incredible joint effort, Karen Goh can sign up here.

I am part of the overwhelming majority of Americans who support climate action, energy efficiency, and renewable energy, and want to see the community join the world in creating a sustainable and prosperous future for all!
