The Circle of Compassion is a student organization at The College of New Jersey. Our mission is to promote a cooperative effort to restore compassionate thinking and compassionate action to the center of religious, moral, and political life. Through discussions, forums, and action, we strive to make our campus a more compassionate place.
In her TED talk in 2008, Karen Armstrong wanted to see the Charter for Compassion implemented in college campuses among other public places. We have been working through her book Twelve Steps to a Compassionate Life and have been coming up with ways to spread compassion awareness across campus. (This semester we are hosting a Forum on Compassion featuring Karen Armstrong's TED talk and a faculty discussion.) It would be exceptionally meaningful if Karen Armstrong could come to our campus to share her insights to students, faculty, and guests.
