Hello Mulvane Community,

After coming across a GoFundMe for our preschool teachers, at the Munson Primary School, I was confused as to why they are not included in the program that provides the $500 gift cards to the rest of the teachers in our district. I reached out to the fund administrator and was told that it is because that is the way the bylaws are written and the board that runs the fund for it at the Kansas Star strictly abide by those bylaws. 

The fund administrator told me that over the years several of the early education teachers have reached out to try to change it and have been denied every time. One of the preschool teachers has informed me that for the first year or two of the program they received the gift cards. They have since been told they don't meet the requirements.

Our preschool teachers are state funded, their rooms are in the same school that our K-2 is, they use the same playground, music, pe, and art room as the other grades in the school. THIS MAKES NO SENSE!

Teachers already spend more of their own money than they should have to, to educate our children. They spend countless hours outside of school, and care for our kids for most of the day during the school year. 

Lets work on changing this for them together!! Bylaws can be changed! With our community's support we can help! This will be presented to their board. The more signatures the better!
