I taught English and job skills to Cambodian refugees in Oakland in the 1990s and saw how my students struggled to overcome the trauma they had experienced and establish new lives here. Roeun has made a very positive life for himself and his family and contributes to what makes Oakland rich. He does not deserve deportation to a country he has no ties to. He is part of our community.

The humane thing to do is keep this dedicated father and contributing member of our community in California. Please pardon him!

Someone this thoughtful about his past, its impact, this honest about his mistakes and determination to be a good father, husband and citizen should be embraced by this country.
