Why this petition matters

Started by Kayla Hornsby

My fiancé was sentenced to 115 years to life for attempted murder. He was not at the scene nor did the prosecutor or investigator find any evidence that he was there, aside from the two victims that couldn’t even decide 100 percent if it was him. He has a prior record, when he was a juvenile and was charged as an adult. How do you expect people to try to do better when the criminal justice system is so corrupt, and set up for men to fail.  This has to stop. No expanded shell casings were found, no gun or ammunition was found, they took his car and did a forensic investigation for gun powder residue and they found nothing. So why was he sentenced at trial for 115 years to life?  The jurors in California by law are suppose to deliberate for at least a hour and they convicted him under a hour. One juror was sleep, the other popping gum not paying attention,  and The other one was just agreeing to everything the prosecutor said. How is this fair? His constitutional rights were violated as well. Please sign This petition for the criminal justice to focus on reforming prisons and looking into cases more. This is legalized slavery and isn’t ok. I need his story out. I am beyond livid and Kamala Harris was part of sentencing him. Please sign to bring my fiancé home to his family and for us to push towards focusing on our inmate community. These are humans that have made mistakes.... no one deserves to die in prison and everyone deserves to get their life together, but 115 years to life for what and why? For no evidence. For he say she say. For a prior juvenile record. I will never understand. Please help!!! I am pleading that people bring light to this situation. It isn’t fair for our loved ones to be treated like animals in there and for them to have these long sentences. Where is the humanity, the justice that should be served as citizens. The equality that this broken system doesn’t follow. Please share! If we win, we accomplish many innocent people that are locked up to be granted another chance to change. We form unity. If we lose, we suffer watching our loved ones die at the hands of this corrupt wicked criminal justice system. Please sign and share!!!!!
