We know our healthcare system is broken. Bankruptcies due to medical bills. Out of control prescription drug prices. People being afraid to go to the doctor because of the costs.

That's why we're urging our elected officials to voice their support for universal, single-payer healthcare that will provide healthcare as a human right to all in Kalamazoo county, the state of Michigan, and the United States.

Southwest Michigan Democratic Socialists of America, Michigan for Single Payer, National Nurses United and others are working together to pass local resolutions in support of the Medicare for All Act of 2019. 

Your signature will show our commissioners that our community demands the most comprehensive solution to our healthcare crisis, Medicare for All, and urge them to pass a resolution in support. Please sign in support of the following statement:

"We the undersigned agree with the statement below and request our county and city commissioners do all in their power to support passage of the Medicare for All Act of 2019 (H.R. 1384, S. 1129 and Michigan HB 6285 "MICare")

We all deserve quality, affordable and accessible healthcare regardless of our status in community or our ability to pay. Our city, our county, our state and our nation would be better served by the passage of the Medicare for All Act of 2019.

The Medicare for All Act of 2019 would provide national health insurance to every person in the United States for all necessary medical care including prescription drugs without copays, deductibles or other out of pocket costs. It would also slash bureaucracy, protect the doctor-patient relationship and assure patients a free choice of doctors."
