Change the rubbish system at Kaiapoi High School.

I am a 15 year old student at Kaiapoi High School and I want to make a difference to the school and the community around it.

I want to change the rubbish system at Kaiapoi High School. At this point, we have no segregated place for our rubbish and recycling (everything goes into random bins around the school). I want to have stations around the school that have bins for recycling, paper, food waste etc.

I want to do this because landfills are get overloaded and rubbish gets into the sea by sewers and wind picking rubbish up. This rubbish is affecting animals in the sea because they don't know what they are eating. This includes plastic glad wrap with sealife thinking it is jellyfish. Whales are dying because of the glad wrap getting stuck in its stomach.

Food packets and packets from lunchboxes are able to get recycled but they aren't right now. This is because there are no recycling bins and everything is getting put in the same bins are food scraps.
